Tis the season for D2 Dawning event and it is back and bigger than ever. There is more to do and more rewards to earn. There is an exotic sparrow to unlock and other goodies to be had. Mayhem has returned and is just as crazy as always. There is a new part of the Dawning event that replaces the gift giving part of last years event with baking cookies and giving them to the different vendors.
To start off, let us look at the cookie making part of the event. To craft these cookies, the player will get a special in-game oven that is found under the Bounties/Pursuits tab. As you kill different types of enemies, in different ways, you will gain ingredients to make different types of cookies. You start this by talking to Eva in the tower. By baking all the cookies on her list and deliver them to the different vendors around the solar system, the player will receive the new Exotic sparrow. The player will complete several Triumphs tied to the event. The Dawning started last week and will last to the first of the year.
The ingredients the player will use to make the cookies comes from killing enemies and completing various activities. For each recipe, players will need three things: a common ingredient, a rare ingredient, and 15 Essence of Dawning.

Cabal Oil: Cabal kills
Ether Cane: Fallen kills
Dark Ether Cane: Scorn Kills
Chitin Powder: Hive kills
Vex Milk: Vex kills
Delicious Explosion: Explosive kills

Electric Taste: Arc kills
Null Taste: Void kills
Flash of Inspiration: Create Orbs of Light
Personal Touch: Melee kills
Perfect Taste: Precision kills
Bullet Spray: SMG and Machine Gun kills

Gjallardoodles (deliver to Zavala): Ether Cane, Delicious Explosion
Infinite Forest Cakes (deliver to Failsafe): Vex Milk, Impossible Heat
Gentleman's Shortbread (deliver to Devrim Kay): Ether Cane, Perfect Taste
Vanilla Blades (deliver to Shaxx): Cabal Oil, Sharp Flavor
Radiolarian Pudding (deliver to Asher): Vex Milk, Electric Flavor
Eliksni Birdseed (deliver to Hawthorne): Ether Cane, Personal touch
Chocolate Ship Cookies (deliver to Holliday): Cabal Oil, Null Taste
Telemetry Tapioca (deliver to Banshee-44): Vex Milk, Bullet Spray
Traveler Donut Holes (deliver to Ikora): Cabal Oil, Flash of Inspiration
Javelin Mooncake (deliver to Ana Bray): Chitin Powder, Sharp Flavor
Dark Chocolate Motes (deliver to the Drifter): Taken Butter, Null Flavor
Alkane Dragee Cookies (deliver to Sloane): Chitin Powder, Bullet Spray
Ill-Fortune Cookies (deliver to Petra Venj): Dark Ether Cane, Impossible Heat
Candy Dead Ghosts (deliver to the Spider): Dark Ether Cane, Flash of Inspiration
Strange Cookies (deliver to Xur): Taken Butter, Electric Flavor
Once the player has baked at least one of every kind of cookie, the oven can be masterworked so that the Essence of Dawning cost for making more cookies goes from 15 units to 10.
If The player creates a recipe combination that isn’t one in the list, they will get a Burned Edge Transit cookie. They will lose whatever ingredients they put in, plus all the Essence of Dawning that was used to create it. However, if the player heads to the Tower and talk to the Cryptarch. The player can turn in the burnt cookies as gifts and get back the 15 Essence--the complete cost of cooking the bad batch.
As an added bonus, once the player has made 12 Dawning deliveries (doesn’t have to be 12 unique delivers), they can return to Eva in the tower for a Powerful gear reward. By this point, her vendor station will be fully active. Players can pick up a set of bounties and gain the ability to trade Dawning Essence for all of the cookie ingredients.
Just as a brief side note, the Mayhem game mode for Crucible is back and is just as crazy as before. Looking over the patch notes there is no major changes to the game mode. So, that means the chaos that comes with it will be as glorious as always.
