D2 Valor Points and Rewards
Greetings to all of you D2 players! With this article, we are going to explain what Valor rank points actually are, what rewards they give to you and how to obtain them.
Players earn Valor rank points for both wins and losses, but as you can probably guess, when winning, you earn more points.
Winning a series of matches will grant players a win streak bonus and give them even more Valor points. This win streak continues until the fifth won match and then it resets. As players earn rank Valor points, they will progress through several rank levels:
-
The 1st rank is at the very beginning - Guardian from 0 to 49th level.
-
The second rank is Brave, starting at 50th level.
-
Next up is the Heroic rank level at 350.
-
The fourth rank level is Fabled and is reached at 700th level.
-
Mythic is the level you reach at 1150th level to 1799.
-
The sixth and final level is called Legend.
-
You reach Legend when you get to 1800th level.
Once a player gets to level 2000, they can reset it and go back to the start.
The reset could be done as many times as the player wants within the season and at the end of the season all ranks, ranks and Valor points will be reset. Think of it as something like prestige for those of you more familiar with shooters.
For each rank earned, players obtain a reward package which can contain engrams, masterwork cores and tokens. Hitting the Fabled rank grants players the season’s unique weapon which is always something interesting to strive for as they are most of the times quite good and usable in PVE and PVP alike.. But that counts only on the Competitive play.
Players who have reached Legend rank can opt to prestige for a chance of earning even more rewards. In the Crucible players do not lose progress with a loss. Also, Bungie often reward players with events, granting double and sometimes triple the XP, making it easy for players to pass through the six Valor ranks in a weak. So you don’t have to worry as it won’t be that slow as one would think to go through the Valor Ranks.
The reason being for that is Bungie always wants player to be able to achieve these rewards through playing the game. In the Quick Play mode, the more you play, the more you get rewarded and there is no penalty so if you are bored or don’t want to commit to a lengthier game mode feel free to spam quick games as you still get rewards from them.
When you go over to the Competitive you start to earn Glory, but this one does have penalties for defeats so always keep that in mind and try to show your best skills when playing competitive. The Valor points will not transfer to Glory, and the Glory points won’t be transferred to Valor and the rewards for both are separated so don’t get confused by both as they are indeed quite different.
A good way to rank up Valor in Crucible is Rumble. It is easier to get massive win streaks in rumble, because you only need to get to the top 3 in order to win. In Rumble, there are only 6 players in the game, so if you have neat weapons in your loadout it can get easy to get to the top 3.
We recommend the Ace of Spades, because it is easily obtainable and powerful at the same time. Rumble games are super-fast, they only last 8 minutes, so you can jump from a game to another one in no time, without it getting boring or repetitive. It is the fastest Crucible game mode and the easiest to get away with multiple victories and stack up that winning streak.
Points can also be earned by completing the daily Gambit bounties, given to the players by The Drifter. Remember to reset your rank when you reach Legend, you will be able to buy some special items from Lord Shaxx, The Crucible Vendor after a certain reset and you can climb the ranks all over again. Bear in mind, that in the end of the season all ranks and points will be reset, so do not reset, if you don’t think there will be enough time for you to climb back to the top again.
After each rank, there will be a new exclusive available item, which can be found at Lord Shaxx’s place in the Tower Courtyard. So the more you reset, the more you will earn in terms of items, Crucible Engrams, Crucible Tokens and Masterwork Cores, depending on how far up you’ve reached in the ranked ladder.
