Teamfight Tactics base item - Spatula

Today we will be taking a look at the next item in our Teamfight Tactics Base items list and that is the infamous item that must do something, Spatula. This amazingly fun and coveted item is special as it only shows up in this mode and not League of Legends itself. While the icon might be familiar to some of you, it is not an item that has ever been in the shop.

 The developers at Riot Games have taken the picture from the Summoner Icon. This is an interesting item as it has numerous of uses and can often turn around a game. It can even make your most powerful champion even stronger by giving them the other attributes as well as his original ones. 

We are unable to compare as typically with its counterpart in League of Legends so today we will be jumping right into its possible combinations and who they work the best with.

1. Spatula + Tear of the Goddess = Darkin: Your champion gets a boost of +20 starting Mana as well as them becoming a Demon. Overall this item is amazing if you are lacking just one Demon for your build or if you want to get the strong Demon buffs as soon as possible in the early game. It has many uses as all other Spatula items but still you should be careful when combining items, so that you don’t waste the two base ones.

2. Spatula + Needlessly Large Rod = Yumi: Once equipped on your champion, this item makes them into a sorcerer as well as whatever they are currently. Something else you receive is a bonus of +40 AP. This item is surprisingly enough based and named on a champion from LoL and can be effectively utilized for multi buff builds. The champions that go well with this item are basically all of them except the Sorcerers.

3. Spatula + B.F. Sword = Youmuu’s Ghostblade: Your champion also becomes an assassin. This one varies quite a lot depending if you can use it. For example if you have a couple of assassins, in order to get the buff, Draven is amazing with this item. Also a couple of others that can find usefulness are Kassadin and Kennen.

4. Spatula + Recurve Bow = Blade of the Ruined King: Your champion will get +40% attack speed and will also become a Blademaster. This can be used on absolutely anyone if you want to quickly stack up your Blademaster buff as well as any other that you wish for. The effect of the spatula is amazing especially for those of us that don’t want to specifically build only one type of team and want numerous of buffs.

5. Spatula + Chain Vest: Knight’s Vow: With this item equipped to your champion, they get a bonus of +20 armor and also makes them a knight. As always the spatula is useful if you want to give your team an extra bonus, but you should always be careful, so that you do not waste it. Every champion that you decide can get uses from this.

6. Spatula + Giant’s Belt = Frozen Mallet: Your champion will also have the Glacial Attribute as well as the +200 Max HP bonus. The Spatula as always is an amazing item and especially combined with the Giant’s Belt. The reason for this is that Glacial are always good, the annoying stuns that come with this combination are devastating. Especially if paired with a champion that does AoE damage or has High Attack Speed. Lucian Especially with his annoying dashes left and right when equipped with this will definitely be even more a force to be reckoned with compared to now.

7. Spatula + Negatron Cloak = Runaan’s Hurricane: The equipped champion gets a bonus of +20 extra magic resist as well as each basic attack dealing an additional missile that deals 75% of the wearer’s attack damage and applies on hit effects. This is an amazing item for your carries especially if they have Hush or Sword Breaker. It works especially well on Jinx, Ashe and Lucian.

8. Spatula + Spatula = Force of Nature: Once equipped on a champion the team gains +1 to maximum team size. This item is quite good in any situation as an additional champion to the team is always welcomed. It can be a major turnaround for your game if you manage to get this item. In regards to who should be equipped with it, it does not genuinely matter that much but preferably in to a tankier champion like Leona or Braum.

9. Spatula + Sparring Gloves = Mittens: Your equipped champion also becomes a Yordle as well as gaining +10% Critical Strike Chance and +10% Dodge Chance. This item is absolutely amazing if you manage to gather a dragon and yordle team for example. If you equip Shyvanna with this item and she manages to gain the yordle buff, she will absolutely dominate the field. Some others that also gain a lot from this item are Pantheon and Aurelion Sol!
